There are lots of reasons why people use therapy to improve their lives. From career advancement to better understanding yourself, living with grief, dealing with anxiety, and combatting depression. These can be triggered off by having moved abroad, but can happen regardless.

You don’t need to be an expat to benefit from my work. In fact, most times people seek therapy for issues they do not connect necessarily to living in a foreign country. That is only a background factor, important, but not necessary to focus on. Regardless, the therapy I provide is designed for you if you feel like something is stopping you from being the person you want to be. Whether that’s at work or with your relationships with other people and yourself, we can lift those barriers together.

My approach as a clinical psychologist

In my practice, I focus on action-oriented techniques to help you move forward, not just talk things through. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we set proactive, present-focused goals. When challenges are tied to past experiences, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can help clear the way for you to become who you want to be.

My goal is to help you notice unhelpful thoughts and feelings early and use specific techniques to manage them. In short, I aim to empower you to be your own therapist.

Online CBT and EMDR practice

Life has changed a lot over the past few years, and therapy is no exception. Before 2020, online therapy was fairly new, but it quickly became popular during the pandemic lockdowns.

While some wondered if it could match in-person therapy, research shows that online sessions for individuals and couples can be just as effective for issues like depression, anxiety, and trauma-based difficulties. Thanks to its effectiveness, accessibility, and convenience, online CBT and EMDR are here to stay.
